Description
1891 – The Foundation
The number 1891 represents the year Djurgården IF was founded, a timeless marker of the club’s origins and more than a century of sporting tradition.
The Three Crowns
The design includes Three Crowns, one of Stockholm’s oldest and most powerful symbols, famously seen on the tower of Stadshuset. The three crowns connects this artwork directly to the city and its history.

The Compass Star
Historic compass-style stars appear in this artwork, inspired by Djurgården’s very first emblem from the 1890s. This four-pointed star was the club’s original symbol and remains an enduring part of Djurgården fan culture today.
Stockholms Stolthet
The words “Stockholms Stolthet” (“Stockholm’s Pride”) are proudly included, a phrase long embraced by Djurgården fans as a declaration of identity and belonging.
Saint Erik
At the heart of the inspiration lies Saint Erik, Stockholm’s traditional patron. His crown is wrapped with blue-striped fabric, a tribute to Djurgården’s historic match kit and famous nickname: Blåränderna (“the blue stripes”).

Legendary Tifo
The shinpads also reference one of Djurgården supporters’ most legendary tifos: a gorilla gripping a rat, symbolizing the fierce rivalry with AIK, often called “Gnaget.”
Shield
A shield marked with an elegant “D” symbol, framed by historic stars, represents strength and identity in a way that honors tradition.
